Vine Maple (1 gallon)

Vine Maple is widely enjoyed for its rugged growth habit, interesting bark coloration, and beautiful fall leaf color. It is considered to be one of the best native trees for the home landscape and an important part of the Northwest forest. Mature plants usually develop multiple trunks with bright reddish green bark. It can be grown alone as a specimen, in groupings, or as an understory shrub. Vine Maple has attractive fall color; reddish to orange for plants growing in the sun or bright yellow for plants growing in the shade. Flowers are small, reddish or purple, and morph into ¾” to 1.5” long winged seed pods spread out like other maples in a ‘V’ shape arrangement. It is called “vine” because branches can lay down in very shady understories.
