Nootka Rose is a hardy, spreading deciduous shrub native to moist meadows, forest edges, riparian areas, and open woodlands throughout the Pacific Northwest and western North America. Its arching stems are lined with feathery leaves, forming dense, thicket-like growth. In late spring to early summer, it produces showy, fragrant pink flowers that attract native bees and other pollinators. By late summer and fall, these develop into bright red rose hips that provide an important food source for birds and wildlife.
